MRD was founded in 1967 by an Inner City Minneapolis Public School Teacher, Mr. Allan Law. MRD began as an After School, Weekend, and Summertime Personal Development and Recreation Program for Inner City Youth. Since its founding in 1967, the Mission of MRD and founder Allan Law has been: “Love One Another”. Over the past 44 years it has grown and expanded in scope to include Three Core Programs:

•	MRD Youth Builder Program
•	MRD Samaritans Outreach Program
•	MRD 363 Days Food Program

The Guiding Principle of MRD is best captured in a quote by Hubert H. Humphrey:
